UAE eliminates more than 400 mosquito sites in anti-dengue campaign

  The UAE government has eliminated over 400 mosquito breeding sites as part of an anti-dengue campaign. This was done through specialized teams that inspected for and destroyed any locations where mosquitoes could breed. Advanced GPS technology was used to map out mosquito sites so they could be identified and treated. An insect lab was also set up to analyze mosquito samples and test the effectiveness of pesticides.   In addition to eliminating breeding grounds, the authorities conducted educational campaigns to raise awareness among the public about dengue prevention. They encouraged people to report any mosquito sightings to help the efforts. Residents were also provided tips on how to protect themselves, like using repellent and covering skin.

Exploring investment: PM expected to visit UAE in a couple of weeks

  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit the United Arab Emirates UAE in the upcoming weeks, with key discussions focusing on investment opportunities across various sectors, Pakistan’s financial issues, and the pending payment related to PTCL.  This visit follows recommendations from Pakistan's Finance Ministry for the creation of a Joint Investment Fund. This fund would be financed by seven country-specific joint investment companies. Ernst & Young has already provided a feasibility report for this initiative. While the respective boards of these companies have generally agreed to establish the Joint Investment Fund, the CEO of the Pak-Iran Joint Investment Company has not given consent due to existing sanctions on Iran.  Additionally, a feasibility study has proposed certain exemptions to ensure the Fund's sustainability, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been approached to facilitate these exemptions.
