UAE, Mauritius sign MoU to boost energy cooperation
The UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) Council has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Chamber of Commerce to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries. The agreement aims to foster a collaborative partnership focused on promoting bilateral trade and investment opportunities. Both organizations will work to increase awareness in the UAE and India about the potential benefits of the bilateral economic relationship and the CEPA.
Under the MoU, the UAE-India CEPA Council and Indian Chamber of Commerce will engage in information sharing and dialogue. They will explore opportunities to host joint events and facilitate interactions between their members. The goal is to provide platforms for businesses in the UAE and India to network and identify potential areas for partnership. The organizations will also undertake initiatives to promote each other's roles and further expand tangible cooperation.
Since its establishment in early 2024, the UAE-India CEPA Council has played a key role in significantly boosting economic, investment and trade ties. Bilateral trade has surged nearly 16% in the past year alone. sectors like gems and jewelry, pharmaceuticals, and food have seen especially strong growth under the CEPA. The MoU is expected to help unlock even greater bilateral opportunities by combining the strengths of both organizations through strategic collaboration.
