ChatGPT Isn't as Good at Coding as We Thought

Image
ChatGPT might be great at answering quick questions or even helping you get started on a blog post, but it needs to improve its coding skills, according to researchers. A study from Purdue University looked at how ChatGPT responded to 517 different questions from Stack Overflow (SO), and the results were pretty underwhelming. "Our examination revealed that 52% of ChatGPT’s answers contain inaccuracies and 77% are verbose," the researchers wrote in the paper, which was not peer-reviewed and published on a pre-print site. Even more concerning, the study found that 54% of the errors made by the chatbot seemed to come from it not understanding the concept of the question it was being asked. In instances where it did understand the question, it often struggled with providing a correct answer, which highlights the importance of fact-checking ChatGPT answers.

What is Coding, and What Can You Do With It?

Image
Coding is often defined as the process of creating instructions for computers to follow. Coders often produce lines of code in programming languages like Java, Python, and C++, which are all now extremely popular.  Since coding is used to build a wide range of products, including software, apps, websites, and many other things, it is a desirable profession for lucrative and fulfilling jobs. To learn more about this relatively new and intriguing field of employment, this article will explore the idea of coding and explain the key principles related to it in this article Functions of Coding Coders work with web and software developers to write lines of code for new mobile applications or computer programs. IT Leadership Devs, IT Leaders Urged To Embrace Climate-Conscious Coding Practices

An executive from Salesforce is urging programmers to take climate change into account while creating their software. According to Salesforce EVP and Chief Impact Officer Suzanne DiBianca, "Even something as seemingly disconnected from the environment, such as building or hosting a website and designing software, can have major climate consequences." She explained that up until now, the emphasis has been on cutting down on energy use in data centres and switching electrical grids away from fossil fuels. Coders and designers are now prepared for a similar push in software, cryptographic proof of work, and AI processing power, the speaker concluded. Few programmers know how to make their work more eco-friendly, she continued, despite the fact that many of them desire it.
