To compensate travellers whose vacations were cut short by wildfires, Greece is providing a free trip.
In July, portions of the island burned for days, destroying hotels and residences while forcing people to flee.
The 20,000 people who fled the fires, including thousands of visitors, were the greatest evacuation the nation had ever witnessed, according to officials.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis acknowledged the hardship the fires had caused for tourists on Wednesday (2 August) on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
"The Greek government, in coordination with local authorities, will provide one week of vacation time for all persons whose vacation was cut short due to wildfires.
