UAE's Initiative to Support People of Gaza

The UAE has launched a new program to help provide relief to the people of Gaza. It aims to give subsidies for bread, a staple food item, through cooperatives and bakeries in the region. This initiative was announced as part of the UAE's "Chivalrous Knight 3" Operation. 


As per reports, rising global food prices have created economic hardship for many residents of Gaza. The cost of essential goods like bread has increased greatly. The UAE subsidy program was launched in response to this crisis. It will see certain varieties of bread sold at reduced prices to make them more affordable. 


The program is being run through the UAE's relief agency, the Emirates Red Crescent. Local bakeries and cooperatives in Gaza are participating by providing the subsidized bread products. This allows widespread access to affordable food staples. It is hoped that hundreds of thousands of residents will benefit greatly from the scheme over the coming period.


Providing relief during times of need is a core value of the UAE. Previous "Chivalrous Knight" operations have delivered tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza and other regions. The current bread subsidy initiative is an innovative way to shield Gazans from inflation's worst impacts by keeping a daily necessity inexpensive.
