UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science to Mark 10th Anniversary with New Initiatives

The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science is working to advance important research in water security In 2025 the program will celebrate its 10th anniversary by launching new projects and initiatives. This will help communities worldwide address the vital issue of adequate water resources.


The program will hold the 7th International Rain Enhancement Forum in January 2025 in Abu Dhabi. Top experts from around the globe will discuss the latest science and technologies to enhance rainfall artificially. The event brings together leaders, academics and stakeholders to foster important collaboration. 


A new cycle of research grants will also be announced. Up to $1.5 million will be allocated per project to support innovative studies. Priority areas include optimized cloud seeding methods, autonomous drone deployment, localized climate tools and advanced data modeling. This funding boosts critical work toward sustainable water solutions.


The UAE remains at the forefront of international efforts in water management and weather modification. Significant investments have already unlocked promising technologies through these research grants over the past decade. The new initiatives will build on past successes and drive the field forward.

Strengthening China UAE Ties through Joint Cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative

China and the United Arab Emirates want to strengthen their cooperation on China's Belt and Road Initiative BRI. The BRI aims to improve connectivity and cooperation between Eurasian countries.
