The UAE Hosts the 19th Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research

The United Arab Emirates is set to host the 19th Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research on November 27 to 28 2024. This event organized by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with the Arab League Educational Cultural and Scientific Organisation ALECSO will be held at the Saadiyat Rotana Resort and Villas in Abu Dhabi.


The conference will be attended by high level delegations including ministers of higher education and scientific research from Arab countries as well as representatives from regional and international education development organizations local higher education institutions and experts in the field of education. The theme of this year conference is A Flexible Higher Education System Adapts to Rapid Global Developments.


The conference aims to discuss ways to develop policies for the higher education and scientific research sector across the Arab world. It seeks to enhance the efficiency of human resources and educational curricula while achieving comprehensive quality to establish a leading advanced and competitive higher education system in Arab countries.


H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar the UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stated that the UAE hosting of this event reflects its distinguished educational status at the regional and international levels. The conference will serve as a platform for exchanging expertise in higher education and scientific research across Arab countries.


H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, the Director General of ALECSO expressed his gratitude to the UAE for hosting the conference and highlighted the organization commitment to strengthening joint Arab action in the field of higher education and scientific research. The conference will address various themes including establishing a flexible higher education system aligning university education programs with future skills and professions and promoting the use of modern technologies.


During the conference the UAE will share its pioneering experience in developing and advancing its higher education system focusing on improving the quality of its outputs by raising the efficiency and effectiveness of its higher education institutions. The conference will also issue the Abu Dhabi Declaration on advancing Arab higher education and scientific research systems.

Strengthening China UAE Ties through Joint Cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative

China and the United Arab Emirates want to strengthen their cooperation on China's Belt and Road Initiative BRI. The BRI aims to improve connectivity and cooperation between Eurasian countries. Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan recently met with UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai.
