Strengthening Academic Collaboration Between Sharjah and Liverpool

 


Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, met with a delegation from the University of Liverpool on November 7th, 2024. The meeting took place at the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre in Sharjah's university city, marking an important step in the ongoing collaboration between the educational institutions of the two regions.


During the meeting His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah welcomed the visiting delegation and discussed the extensive cooperation that Sharjah universities and specialized academies have been working on with prestigious higher education institutions particularly in the United Kingdom This collaboration aims to facilitate the exchange of scientific expertise develop the educational community of professors and students and achieve the educational goals set forth by the emirate.


The meeting also delved into the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for education which is based on systematic and strategic plans These plans have contributed to the creation of an integrated educational environment in Sharjah leading to the establishment of institutions that provide specialized education at all university levels. These institutions have become a model for the quality of higher education its effective management and the application of the best standards and specifications for the benefit of students and learners.


The discussion also highlighted the importance of benefiting from the scientific and academic experiences available in the local environment, particularly in the field of applied university studies, such as agricultural, medical, and health sciences. The meeting also explored the significance of directing students towards scientific research to help them gain the required experience.


The meeting reviewed the ongoing cooperation between the University of Dhaid and the University of Liverpool specifically in the veterinary medicine program. This program is recognized as one of the best in the United Kingdom based on the latest international classifications and it will be among the academic offerings of the University of Dhaid.


At the end of the meeting the delegation from the University of Liverpool expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HH the Ruler of Sharjah for providing the opportunity and opening up areas of cooperation with the universities in the Emirate of Sharjah. This collaboration is expected to bring mutual benefits in various academic fields further strengthening the educational ties between the two regions.
