UAE showcases its smart city and AI initiatives at UN forum

 


 

The United Arab Emirates recently participated in a discussion hosted by the New York City Mayor Office on smart cities and artificial intelligence. This discussion was part of the 2024 United Nations High-Level Political Forum held in New York. 


UAE highlighted its approach to building sustainable and tech enabled smart cities It shared details of initiatives like Dubai 10X which focuses on innovation and adoption of future technologies Masdar City was cited as a pioneer project in developing clean energy infrastructure and mobility.


The country framework for implementing artificial intelligence across sectors was also presented This includes establishing an AI office developing an ethical code and encouraging startups Applications of AI in areas such as education healthcare and transportation were discussed.


International collaborations between government bodies and private players on related projects were mentioned The open platform model and regulatory sandboxes to support startups were shared as best practices. 


This engagement provided an opportunity to showcase UAE vision and on ground progress in building smart infrastructure and leveraging new technologies It helps establish the nation as a leader in future ready transformation and sustainable development.
