UAE Increases Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
The UAE has announced plans to ramp up humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian territory of Gaza during the upcoming month of Ramadan. The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, headed by Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed, revealed that new initiatives and relief campaigns will be launched throughout Ramadan to provide crucial support to residents of Gaza. On the first day of Ramadan, over 42 tons of food and medical supplies were airlifted to northern Gaza by the UAE in partnership with Egypt.
Additionally, the Emirates Red Crescent sent a ship carrying 4,500 tons of aid for Gaza via sea route. The aid initiatives are aimed at enhancing the spirit of human solidarity during this holy month. The council said the upcoming campaigns will focus on fulfilling the basic needs of Palestinians in Gaza such as meeting needs for food and necessities. The accelerated efforts also seek to help families living in poverty observe Ramadan traditions and responsibilities.
