UAE continues its humanitarian march on Zayed Humanitarian Day
On March 29th 2024, the United Arab Emirates commemorate Zayed Humanitarian Day, an annual occasion observed in honour of the legacy of the UAE's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This special day pays tribute to Sheikh Zayed's vision and lifelong dedication to humanitarian causes and assisting those in need around the world, establishing the UAE as a global leader in providing aid and relief.
Sheikh Zayed laid the philosophical and practical foundation for the UAE's culture of giving and compassion. He established robust institutions and frameworks to carry out substantial foreign assistance programs. During his time as UAE President before his passing in 2004, Sheikh Zayed directed approximately AED90.5 billion in developmental and humanitarian aid to over 117 countries.
Current UAE leaders continue strengthening and expanding upon Sheikh Zayed's humanitarian legacy. These include President H H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative addressing global water scarcity, and H H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's Mothers' Endowment campaign establishing a AED1 billion fund supporting education worldwide.
During This Ramadan the UAE has launched numerous aid efforts in different countries. Who is facing crises and emergencies. Zayed Humanitarian Day reaffirms the UAE's dedication to perpetuating Sheikh Zayed's noble humanitarian vision and the positive impact he made worldwide.
