Ramadan Charity – How Organizations and Individuals Make a Difference
There are many charitable initiatives and organizations that work to help those in need during Ramadan. Al Jalila Foundation runs the Basma Ramadan campaign where purchases of Costa Coffee gift cards donate money towards providing medical aid. Dubai Cares supports people in Gaza through donations for food baskets, shelter and school meals. Dubai Culture partners with Talabat and the Emirates Red Crescent to provide iftar and suhoor meals to underprivileged individuals through food deliveries.
In addition, international organizations also run campaigns during Ramadan. The World Food Programme focuses on combating hunger globally and has a campaign to help over 95 million people. The UAE Food Bank aims to distribute over 166,000 meals daily locally and internationally. Their initiatives like "Your Iftar is on Us" and "Iftar with Workers" hope to assist over half a million families and three million workers.
On a smaller scale, charities also do valuable work. Vietnamese Foodies and Dubai Good Will partner to distribute iftar meals in Dubai. Dubai Charity Associations has various donation options starting from Dh15 to support community programs. Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation UK ensures orphaned families have meals and healthcare through donations. There are ample opportunities for people to participate and donate to charitable causes, big or small, that help those in need during Ramadan.
