Abu Dhabi Establishes New Council to Advance its Leadership in AI and Future Technologies


 

Abu Dhabi is establishing a new council called the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC). The ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, unveiled plans to set up this council. 


The goal of the AIATC is to develop strategies and policies to boost research, infrastructure and investments in artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies within Abu Dhabi. It will work with local and global partners on research programs to solidify Abu Dhabi's leadership in AI and future technologies.


Forming the AIATC shows the UAE's commitment to embracing innovation and staying at the forefront of technological progress. It aims to position Abu Dhabi as a global hub for AI/tech through investments, partnerships and talent attraction. 


The council will provide strategic guidance to build Abu Dhabi's digital transformation and post-oil economy vision. It complements existing efforts to brand the emirate as a world leader in AI, advanced tech and future industries.


Overall, the establishment of the AIATC demonstrates Abu Dhabi's dedication to technology leadership as a driver of long-term economic growth and sustainability, as directed by Sheikh Mohamed's forward-thinking policies.
